@Michael Thanks, Michael. Actually, gumbo is served over rice. It started out as "poor people" food and is now vastly overpriced in the "best" restaurants. It's a staple in the Cajun and the Creole diets.
I'm really torn about this one. On one side, yeah, it's a really nice shot in greyscale. On the other, though, I want to see that dish in all its mouth-watering goodness (i.e. in color)!
I love the food here in Japan, but sometimes I crave something more hearty, or zesty, or spicy. My wife makes a very nice kind of rice pilaf dish and throws salad-type stuff on top of it. She frowns a bit when I pour salsa over it, but it's awesome!

Never had or heard of 'gumbo' Glenn, I think I'll have a bowl of rice :0
Good shot in greyscale.
Now that looks good! And lucky for me it's just about lunchtime....
Yum yum!

@GJC
It was delicious. Unfortunately, it lead to a night of devastating heartburn.
@psephis
See above re GJC ;-)

@Rick
Sorry, Rick, but the color shot was gross. Not to worry, though, there are many more gumbos in my future.
