"Barracks St.": For some reason that name reminds of "The Armory" in Halifax (which I'm pretty sure also has a "Barracks St."). Actually, quite a few of your pics remind me of Halifax, Glenn. (Sometimes when I watch "The Wire"--I know, Baltimore--I could swear it was shot in Halifax). The strange thing is, I suspect some of this stuff traveled down your way from my way, and then came back (Halifax was pretty much leveled because of a big explosion in the harbor during WWI, Boston came to the rescue, etc.).
Anyway (!), I like the shot, and it looks like it could have been taken in Halifax!
Thanks, Rick. I know what you mean about similarities in cities, especially old cities, the kind that have held onto their pasts. And I can't discount the influence of the Acadian diaspora. If it weren't for that, I wouldn't be here. Did you know my father's mother was a Mouton?
This one to me is a little sad, because it's clear that a great deal has been lost of the architectural heritage -- and to make a parking lot. I'm not saying that's what you meant this photo to be, but simply what struck me most when I saw it.

You aren't wrong. It's very sad. The remaining concrete slab attests to what has been lost.
